This page is a living page which will contain everything (or links to everything,) needed to know how to operate the station.
We are in the business of communication ... so lets communicate:
First order of business is "kluges", how to avoid them and how to sucessfully pull them off.
Then there's is "Managing a Project", so you don't look like you live your whole life like a series of kludges (without long-term purpose or goals.)
The main point of running anything, specially anything as complex as a radio station, is to effectively communicate, from bottom to top and back again, (across the depth of any organization,) and across the breadth (the width of any organization,) so that the appropriate things happen.
Like any proper Cartesian dualist, I realise that there are fractals (fractional dimensions,) which are not covered by the methodology I espouse here but its a lot better than mere hand waving, muttering platitudes, and getting nowhere while teaching nothing,
There are lots of things to organize to make WSPC into a model source for broad/narrow/net(aka web)/pod-casting.
We have to provide a frame work for:
- controlling projects, (like planning and executing events,)
- controlling staff (like getting everybody's info [
- that means maintaining a skills inventory and
- seeing that credit is given when credit is due,]
- and getting everybody's voice recorded,)
- controlling the station(s
- ccTV,
- Webcasting and
- podcasting, RSS is so versatile that we can include printed projects.)
- controlling information (this wiki is a ubiquitous and essential part of the solution, Twitter will also be a ubiquitous way to disseminate statuses)
- controlling content (the wiki can/shall/will contain:
- samples of everybody's voice,
- everybody's PSA,
- everybody's show promos,
- everybody's audition tapes,
- every show aired)
